Biography

Tyler Shookman realized his passion for real estate at the young age of 12 when he convinced his parents to sell their home and buy the perfect house. . .thus celebrating his first “real estate” deal.

With a drive for success, he began to live his dream as an agent at L. Steve Castlen, REALTORS®. His strategy, since the beginning, has been to provide his clients with an enthusiastic approach, innovative marketing, and undivided personal attention from start to finish.

He was awarded the 2019 Realtor of the Year by his colleagues, as well as Owensboro Living’s 2021 Gold Winner and 2022 Platinum Winner for Best Realtor. He has also graduated from Leadership Owensboro and continues to lead in the community. Through that program, he has brought his goal to life of developing a community-wide project to “Keep Owensboro Beautiful”.

Tyler has been hugely active in the real estate community, having served as a 3 year Director on the Board of Directors and as the Public Relations Committee Chairman for the Greater Owensboro Realtor Association. He has served 3 terms as the Aid the Homeless President, the realtors’ signature charity. Adding to his accomplishments, he has founded and executed multiple charity events, giving tens of thousands back to the community through Aid the Homeless.

He is proud to call Owensboro his lifelong home and continuously shows his love for his community by volunteering. He has volunteered and donated commissions to Habitat for Humanity. Close to his heart, he has raised thousands for the Boulware Mission, participating multiple times in their signature event, Dancing With Our Stars. He has also raised funds for Puzzle Pieces through competing in their Lip Sync Battle event. He has coordinated multiple food and Christmas toy drives. Giving back is top priority, as he attributes his success to the support of those surrounding him.

Tyler has maintained his status as one of Owensboro’s top agents throughout his career through his hard work and dedication to his clients and his community.
